Motion and stills for 3M Cubitron and Karwoski & courage

We had done a motion piece previously for the folks at 3M Cubitron, and their auto body division liked it so much they wanted one for their customers. Writer, Lyle Wedemeyer, and myself concepted the videos and my production team and I shot the motion as well as stills during the one day shoot in beautiful Vadnais Heights. I cast the actual body shop workers for the shoot as well as one outside talent we brought in. We shot A and B cameras (RED Epics) to enable us to get lots of footage and I also shot still portraits of the guys along the way. The dust was flying-literally-but at the end of the day we were able to deliver a lot of cool stuff.

Make it ok/ HealthPartners for Preston Kelly

Preston Kelly and client HealthPartners called with 3 new ads to shoot for their ongoing "Make it ok campaign”. The ad concepts highlight the fact that most of us simply shut down or don’t know what to say. The campaign encourages people to be willing to have an open dialogue with friends and family regarding depression and mental illness. Our challenge in shooting these were to capture that uncomfortable moment. Kudos to Peter Tressel and Krista Kraabel at PK on how the finished ads turned out. Nicely done guys and thanks for letting us help on this important project.

LifeTime LifeSpa

LifeTime CD, Jill Palmquist, and Art Director, Aurora Whittet, needed images for the Spa to be used in- store as well as for web and collateral, highlighting their skin and hair services. The look and feel needed to match the earlier work I had shot for Jill back in February which was a rich, warm but subdued color. We cast and shot 7 local models during the one day shoot at 514 studios. Good time as always with Jill and the LT gang!

Key Bank for Mithun

Yes, it was Christmas in July! We shot 4th quarter holiday motion and still work for agency Mithun and client Key Bank. The motion pieces are used on electronic boards in the banks and the stills are for in-store posters. This has been the second year of this ongoing relationship with ACD/Art Director Wendy Hansen, ACD/writer Jan Pettit and Producer Bill Schneck and is always a great time. Stylists Susan Calvit and SJ Shervin did an amazing job of transforming The Woods store in Maple Grove into a picture perfect winter toyland in WAY too little amount of time. In fact, great job by the whole crew! I got so much in the holiday spirit I put our tree up right after the shoot.

Wild Idea Buffalo Co.

John Karlson of Jumpercable called one day with one of those calls a photographer dreams about. Would I be interested in spending 4 or 5 days shooting a bunch of images for the Wild Idea Buffalo Co. near Badlands, SD? Do ya think? Henry Palmer from WI arranged for me to spend 4 days with founders Dan and Jill O’Brien, covering every aspect of the company and life on the ranch; from following the buffalo around the vast prairie to the harvesting and processing of the 100% grass fed meat. The mission of this amazing company is to help restore the prairies ecosystems by reintroducing the buffalo back into the native lands. For those of you who are concerned with sustainability and healthy eating, as well as humanely raising the animals, I encourage you to check out their website (which I also helped art direct and design.) What an incredible assignment. Thanks to John and everyone at Wild Idea.
